Beschreibung
Schwetzingerstadt gets its name from its oldest street, which already connected Mannheim’s Electoral Court with the residence in nearby Schwetzingen in Elector Carl Theodor’s day. The urban development of the city borough began in 1840 with the construction of the first passenger and goods train station not far from where Tattersall is today. The present-day Schwetzingerstadt is among the most loved and lively districts of Mannheim with its many art and culture institutions and a rich diversity of shops and restaurants. The walk takes you from the sculpture space at the Kunsthalle art gallery to numerous architectural treasures from various periods right the way up to the 1960s building that houses Mannheim’s art association.
This tour can also be booked in German and Spanish.
