Wurmlingen wine trail
At 30 stations in the beautiful landscape at the foot of the Wurmlinger Chapel, the vineyards and orchards are described as part of the local cultural landscape, and typical natural habitats are also explained.
Beschreibung
The educational trail deals with topics relating to viticulture. You will learn interesting facts about its history, the various forms of cultivation, soil cultivation, fertilization and plant protection.
From modern cultivation methods to the finished wine, individual work steps are explained.
Of course, there is a detailed description of all the old and new grape varieties grown on the Wurmlinger Kapellenberg.
In addition to viticulture, fruit-growing topics are also covered. In southern Germany, orchards are particularly typical of the landscape and ecologically valuable biotopes. They contribute in particular to the attractiveness of the landscape. In accordance with the extraordinary diversity of the landscape, the landscape elements such as hedges, orchards, dry stone walls and, a rarity in this area, a juniper heath are presented.
The circular trail is very scenic as it offers a wide panoramic view over the Ammertal and Neckar Valley.
Tip: The wine, fruit and nature trail is part of the “Wurmlinger Kapellenwegle” premium walking trail. This walking trail, which has been awarded a prize by the German Hiking Institute, impresses with its varied route through orchards, vineyards and juniper areas and offers wonderful views of the Wurmlinger chapel and across the Neckar and Ammer valleys to Hohenzollern Castle.
