Beschreibung
1. start and end point is the Franciscan Cultural Centre. In addition to the Franciscan Museum, the centre also houses the tourist information office and a concert hall.
2nd We walk along Schulgasse to the Benedictine Church with its famous Silbermann organ.
3. we continue to Münsterplatz. This is where Villingen's landmark is located: the "Minster of Our Lady". Among other things, the Nägelinskreuz and the bronze portals are worth seeing here.
4 Another highlight is the Minster Fountain. It depicts eight significant epochs in the city's history. The New and Old Town Halls are also located on Münsterplatz.
5. the tour takes us further along the historic Rietstraße with its numerous cafés and shops. Our next destination is the Protestant St John's Church in baroque style.
6 Continuing towards the city wall, we reach the Kaiserturm. The former defence tower can be visited as part of a guided tour of the town.
7. through the centre of Villingen we reach our last stop: the Romäusturm. It was named after the local hero and giant Remigius Mans (known as "Romäus"), who was imprisoned here.
8 Passing the Rietgarten, we return to the Franciscan Cultural Centre. Our tour ends here.
