Picturesque Rottweil

This circular route takes you into Rottweil's past. The neo-Romanesque church of St. Pelagius in the Old Town district was built as Rottweil's original church in the 7th century over a Roman bath complex. The view of the Hypocaust complex is still impressive today. The baroque Ruhe-Christi church was built as an expression of deep piety. The footpath along the Höllenstein offers a very special view of the picturesque town on a shell limestone plateau, the young Neckar and the former mills. The viaduct and König-Karls-Brücke bridge have long since replaced the old, steep paths into the town. The path runs partly along the Neckar and combines nature and culture.
