Neckar Valley Cycle Route Stage 2: Rottweil - Horb am Neckar
Leicht
Between Rottweil and Horb, the Neckar slowly picks up speed, transforming from a small stream into a river. In the middle of a picturesque landscape, it flows around mountains, meanders through meadows and fields and spoils cyclists with downhill stretches.

Beschreibung
Soon after the old town of Rottweil, the defensive walls of the Neckarburg ruins are visible.
Steep slopes, rocks and gorge-like side valleys follow. This is where the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb meet, with a river in the middle heading north.
In Oberndorf, the fools, the wild fellows of the Swabian-Alemannic carnival, lie in wait for it, and you can refresh yourself wonderfully at their fools' fountain even after Ash Wednesday.
On the way to Sulz and Horb, it is worth making a detour or two, for example to the Jewish synagogue in Rexingen or the moated castle in Glatt.
By the time you reach your destination in Horb, the Neckar is a truly impressive body of water, majestically overlooked by the old town, which is the backdrop for the nationally renowned knights' games in summer.
