The harbor of Heilbronn is the most important harbor on the Neckar and one of the largest inland harbors in Germany.

Starting or end point for ship transports to or from the major German, Dutch and Belgian seaports and the industrial centers on the Rhein and Ruhr rivers. Since 2012: Container terminal at the northern tip of the area.
