Wertwiesenpark
The Wertwiesenpark stretches along the Neckar River between the city center and the district of Sontheim. It was created for the Landesgartenschau in 1985 on arable and gravel land. Since then, the 15-hectare Wertwiesenpark has offered many opportunities for recreation and walks.

Sports and recreational facilities
Two playgrounds at the northern and southern entrances (Neckarhalde and Kolpingstraße) and a water playground delight young and older children; a half pipe is available for skaters. There is also a privately operated mini-golf course. A Kneipp facility provides refreshment in summer. The fairground is used by boules players during the off-season.
Barbecue
In warmer weather, the Wertwiesenpark is a popular place for barbecues. This is allowed on a meadow area along the Neckar river bank path.
The Staudenwoge, a large perennial area with over 13,000 plants, presents a particularly fascinating picture almost all year round. Equally noteworthy are the fragrance garden and the grass garden, as well as the rose garden. Due to its proximity to the city center, the Wertwiesenpark is very popular. A small bridge takes you to the other side of the Neckar, allowing you to easily reach the Frankenstadion and the Theresienwiese fairground on foot or by bike.
