Steinerner Geschichtsgarten
Local history along the way
Beschreibung
The "Stone History Garden" is an open-air museum and therefore accessible at all times. It is located on one of Horb's "local mountains", the Kreuzkapellenberg, directly on the Jakobusweg, and offers a beautiful viewpoint over Horb and the Neckar valley.
The "Stone History Garden" shows a piece of local history carved in stone. The construction of the open-air museum began in 1979. In the meantime, the open-air museum has a collection of over 70 surveying, legal and transport monuments. The stones, which were made by hand for a very specific purpose, are important contemporary witnesses to local cultural history. They document the course of borders or district boundaries in forests and meadows. Some commemorate special events or people, such as disasters, wars, famines, murders or executions.
