Beschreibung
The Neckar Valley cycle path starts in Schwenningen and runs for 362 kilometres through the Black Forest, the Swabian Alb and all the way to Mannheim. There is much to discover and marvel at along the way: castles, vineyards, meadows and forests. Before you start your cycle tour, it is worth visiting Villingen-Schwenningen, as the town has a lot more to offer besides the source of the Neckar. The enchanting town centre in the district of Villingen invites you to take a tour of the old town. Past gates, towers, churches and numerous cafés, you can gather numerous inspiring impressions.
The Schwenningen district, on the other hand, which was once the world's largest clock-making town, is completely different. Time has not stood still here. The Clock Industry Museum shows how the clock industry has shaped the town and provides an insight into times gone by. The Schwenninger Moos is just outside the city centre. A fascinating raised bog with impressive flora and fauna, fed by the source of the Neckar. An approximately three-kilometre circular trail illustrates the moor with explanations and allows visitors to experience it.
Enjoy the journey along the Neckar and past varied landscapes from Villingen-Schwenningen to Mannheim!
