Beschreibung
It begins in the twin town of Villingen-Schwenningen, one part of which - Villingen - was once in Baden, while Schwenningen is old Württemberg territory. A charming connection with an old town in Villingen, which recalls the great history of the Zähringer family. On the way to Schwenningen, you encounter the namesake of the cycle path for the first time: the source of the Neckar gushes out of a small opening in the moor, set in stone and marked by name. A lovely place to stop and pause for a moment. From now on, the river is your constant companion, a gurgling trickle that babbles leisurely through the landscape. This section near Dauchingen and Deißlingen is also affectionately known as the “Neckartäle”.
At the end of this short first stage lies another piece of the state's history: with over 2000 years of history, Rottweil is the oldest town in Baden-Württemberg.
