Naturschutzgebiet Schlichemtal
When the water level is high, the Schlichemklamm gorge is a real natural spectacle. The water foams over the steps of the shell limestone in many small cataracts. The Schlichem cuts a gorge-like incision into the shell limestone here because the Neckar valley is significantly deeper and the incisions become deeper as the water flows faster.
Beschreibung
Since 1993, the Schlichemtal nature reserve has encompassed the lower reaches of the Schlichem between Böhringer Mühle and the confluence with the Neckar near Epfendorf over a length of around 3.5 kilometres. The Ramsteiner Mühle and the Butschhof with Meierhof and other mills date back to the Middle Ages.
