The Ludwigsburg Palace Festival is one of the oldest festivals in southern Germany and is the cultural highlight of the city. During the summer months, the Residenzschloss and many other venues are filled with music from various genres. Renowned and up-and-coming artists present fascinating concerts, mostly in programs specially conceived for the festival. As the official state festival, the Schlossfestspiele also makes guest appearances in monasteries and castles throughout Baden-Württemberg.
