Kunst in der Stadt
Large-scale sculptures in contrast to the surrounding nature and architecture: on Rottweil's Königstraße, modern art can be experienced in passing, so to speak.
Beschreibung
In front of the district court, for example, a building in the classicist style, there is a strictly cool stainless steel sculpture by Erich Hauser and a rather playful work by Staffan Nihlen, two monumental oak tables by Magdalena Jetelovà attract attention under the trees in front of the post office, while sculptures by Christoph Freimann, James Licini and Jürgen Knubben make their mark on the urban landscape on the green strip opposite. In the park of Villa Duttenhofer are works by Fritz Schwegler, Edgar Gutbub and Fritz Rapp. Sculptural works can also be found elsewhere in the city - for example on the Charlottenhöhe (Josef Bücheler), in the inner courtyard of the Dominican Museum (Willi Bucher) or the New Town Hall (Erich Hauser), in the city moat (H. J. Schittenhelm). They demand no more from the viewer than a few moments of concentration, a few glances.
