Kuhländchen Archiv im Stuttgarter Torhaus Ludwigsburg
Beschreibung
The Stuttgart Gatehouse in Ludwigsburg houses the Kuhländler Archive - a comprehensive exhibition about the history and life in the "Kuhländchen", a region in the Sudetenland for which Ludwigsburg took over a sponsorship in 1961.
The Kuhländchen, land between agriculture (cattle breeding, grain and fruit growing), industry (Hückel hats, wagon construction and Tatra automobiles) and science (Johann Gregor Mendel, Sigmund Freud and Alfred Neubauer).
The Kuhländler Archive has given these and many other treasures from the landscape of the upper reaches of the Oder a new home. Go on a search, here on the Internet or at the Stuttgarter Torhaus in Ludwigsburg, every first Sunday of the month.
The Stuttgart Gatehouse is one of the six historic gatehouses in Ludwigsburg. The six historic gatehouses of Ludwigsburg were part of the city walls built between 1758 and 1760 under Duke Carl Eugen and formed the exits to the city. Following extensive renovation in 2004, the gatehouses now serve as museums, archives and exhibition spaces.
