Kirchberger Schaffnerei
The "Haus am Aischbach"
Beschreibung
The old stone building on Neckarstraße once housed the sheep farm of the Dominican convent of Kirchberg, which was granted tax exemption by the city authorities as early as 1301. At the rear of the small picturesque courtyard, which leads to the ogival entrance portal, lies the Aischbach fountain, which supplied a medieval bathing parlour in 1361 and the "nuwen brunnen" in 1480, which had to make way for the expansion of the B14. Wilhelm Klink, the last representative of the Horber sculpting school, had his workshop in this house. He also created the picture of the Holy Trinity on the street side, which was modelled on a depiction on the demolished monastery barn in the valley in the second half of the 1930s.
TIP: Today, the well-known goldsmith's shop "Schmuck am Aischbach" is located in the "Haus am Aischbach".
