Kakteengarten
The approximately 250 square metre cactus garden is situated in a wonderful panoramic location and offers a wonderful view of Horb and the Neckar valley
Beschreibung
More than 300 different species of cacti and other frost-resistant succulents attract visitors from Germany and abroad every year. Especially during the main flowering period - from the end of May to the beginning of August - more than 1000 flowers can be marvelled at on sunny days.
The native habitats of the hardy cacti are mainly in the western and southern states of the USA and range from southern Canada to Patagonia. Although the native habitat of the hardy cacti is usually characterised by much longer and more intense periods of sunshine with considerably lower rainfall, the cacti in the Horber cactus garden overwinter outdoors without additional heating or rain protection.
TIP: The well-known cactus expert Holger Dopp looks after and cares for the cacti and succulents. Every 1st and 3rd Sunday from April to October, Mr Dopp can be found in the cactus garden from 2pm to 4pm (not in rainy weather) or by appointment. Information is available from the Horb town information centre.
