Heilig-Kreuz Cathedral

Heilig-Kreuz, Rottweil’s main catholic church, which was elevated to cathedral status in 1950, stands exposed on a wide, quiet square. Trees provide shade, and a fountain babbles opposite the main gate. This used to be the location of the cemetery until around 1570. And where there are benches today, surrounded by a small wall, stood the ossuary, where the bones of the deceased were piled up after a certain period of lying in the grave.
