Award-winning wine city

Heilbronn is located in one of the warmest regions in Germany. This has promoted viticulture. Wine has been grown here for more than 1250 years. This makes Heilbronn the oldest wine town in Württemberg. Naturally, this has shaped the city's culture. There are many pleasurable experiences on offer: The best place to experience Heilbronn wine is where it grows, for example at the wine tavern, the Wengerthäusle, on the Wine Panorama Trail on the Wartberg. But there are also numerous opportunities to experience Heilbronn's passion for wine in the city center with the wine pavilion at the Neckarbühne or the classicist Wein Villa Heilbronn, awarded the title of ''House of Baden-Württemberg Wines'', with its own vinotheque and over 20 wineries.

The Besenwirtschaften, the small wine taverns of the winegrowers, are convivial and above all cozy.

Here, people sit closely together at long tables and have a chat. With 500 hectares of vineyards, Heilbronn is also one of the largest wine-growing regions in Baden-Württemberg.Red wine plays an important role here.First and foremost is Trollinger, which the local winegrowers have now refined into award-winning wines. The region is also known for the Lemberger and Pinot Noir varieties.Riesling dominates the white wine scene. However, Gewürztraminer, Muscat and Pinot Gris have also become renowned Heilbronn wines.
