1745 Residence and official residence of the head bailiff, Johann Josef Geßler von Braunegg
Beschreibung
For his services to the reconstruction of the town after the great fire, Johann Josef Geßler, head bailiff of Horb, was elevated to the rank of knight and gallant to the nobility by Emperor Charles VI in 1726 with the title "von Braunegg". In the Baroque style, Geßler had his new coat of arms affixed to the portal of the house he bought on the market square in 1745. Today, the building is used by the town council.
