Brickworks Park Böckingen
Small but very varied park with lake, water playground and lakeside kiosk. Clay stone walls are striking eye-catchers.
Beschreibung
The shores of the lake are varied: Grassy shores at the play area alternate with gravel and sandy beaches at the water playground and heavily overgrown shores with marsh and aquatic plants on the small peninsula and in the transition to the wetland area. The steep walls of loess loam up to 15 meters high at the water tower are striking focal points. They are home to rare species of wild bees and are a nature reserve.
The expansive meadows invite you to play ball and have a picnic. Barbecues are permitted on a meadow to the west of the playground.
Lake & water playground
The small lake in the park is fed by a spring basin located on a small hill above the water playground.
From the spring pool, the water flows in many meanders through the water playground into the lake.
Not a bathing lake.
Beer garden in the brickwork-park
There is a small kiosk right by the lake in the brickwork-park. Usually open in the summer months.
History of the park
The 15-hectare citizens' park was created on the site of a former brick factory. The project of transforming an industrial wasteland into an urban green project was awarded the German Landscape Architecture Prize in 1995.
