The museum in two rooms of the baroque Nordstetten Castle commemorates the life and work of the writer Berthold Auerbach (1812 - 1882), who was born in Nordstetten.

His "Black Forest Village Stories", published in 1843, brought him worldwide fame. In his calendar stories, novels and lectures, he commented on the cultural and political life of his time.

The Berthold Auerbach Literature Circle organises readings and lectures in the museum rooms. You can find the current programme at www.literaturland-bw.de.
