Plan your trip

From a small stream to a navigable river, the Neckar changes on its way from the Baar plateau between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb to the mouth of the Rhine, and the natural and cultural landscapes along the way change with the river.

The rich contrasts between natural and man-made floodplains, forests, fields, orchards and vineyards, industrial conurbations, bustling cities and tranquil half-timbered towns, castles, gardens, churches and monasteries are at the centre of a cycle tour on the Neckar Valley Cycle Route and show the historical development and natural contrasts of the region.

There is something new for cyclists to discover and experience around every bend in the Neckar Valley Cycle Route, because here in the Neckar Valley it is not the route that is the destination, but the multitude of experiences and sights along the river.

Impressions of the cycle path
