Winegrowing culture meets cosiness

Weinsüden Weinorte
The Weinsüden wine villages are the flagships of Baden-Württemberg wine tourism. There are 10 excellent wine villages with a long wine-growing tradition directly on the cycle route. Here, the traditional connection to viticulture is cultivated and lived in an exemplary manner. Wine tastings directly at the winery and wine festivals provide variety and enjoyable moments.

Unique wine culture
The Neckar Valley cycle path is characterised in particular by its wine culture. From Esslingen with Germany's first sparkling wine cellar via the Württemberg Wine Cycle Path to Heilbronn, impressive steep vineyards characterise the landscape. What an experience to climb the steep vineyard slopes and enjoy breathtaking views of the Neckar valley!

Weinsüden Winegrowers &
wine shops
You should plan enough breaks in this unique cultural landscape to taste the regional wines at excellent Weinsüden winegrowers & vinotheques or stop off at a rustic wine tavern. One wine experience follows the next in the Hessigheim rock gardens, Besigheim - Germany's most beautiful wine village - and Walheim with Württemberg's most beautiful wine view.
Vibrant orchard landscapes
The unique orchard landscape also characterises the river cycle path. One of the largest contiguous orchards in Europe stretches between Horb and Esslingen. It is an asset for nature and species conservation - and a feast for the eyes, especially in spring, when the meadows are transformed into a sea of blossom. After the harvest, the fruit provides delicious juices, brandies and fruit spreads. While the innkeepers in the Swabian region serve specialities such as Maultaschen and Spätzle, their colleagues in and around Heidelberg, where Baden and Palatinate cuisine meet, often serve potatoes, asparagus and chestnuts.
